Tayla's 2nd Cake Smash
Written by Nick Lance on Saturday, 27 December 2014 12:32

Happy 2nd birthday to our gorgeous little girl Tayla! As the daughter of photographers she is always seeing other little children come to our studio and have their cake smash photos. So to help celebrate her 2nd birthday we allowed her to have another cake smash of her own.

Her second cake smash was quite a lot like her first as she didn’t eat much of the cake, she much preferred smashing it, punching it and kicking. However this time around she found that she could paint with the icing. She painted a little with her hands and then even tried with her feet. This behavior is something that we have noticed recently that is common amongst the 2 year old girls that we have had in our studio as they seem to be a lot more creative and delicate than the boys.

Second birthday cake smashes are definitely just as much, if not more fun than the first birthday cake smashes. Although they know what cake is and know to eat the cake, it is great to watch them see how they will react to being allowed to smash it.

Lester Family | Perth Photographer
Written by Nick Lance on Monday, 22 December 2014 11:24

Yesterday we visited Hyde Park with the Lester Family for a few family portraits. These family portraits were particularly special because it involved both Matt & Rachael’s combined families to celebrate Matt & Rachael’s intimate wedding in Fiji.

While everyone loves a traditional posed photograph to record a moment in time, as Perth Lifestyle Photographers we photograph moments that celebrate life. In the last five years we have photographed just about everything you can think of from newborns to 90th birthday parties and everything in between. We have found our specialty is celebrating the relationships between people. There will always be a place for traditional posed photos although as cliche as it sounds - the real story is told when Matt & Rachael have a moment to themselves.

Meshkini Family | Perth Photographer
Written by Nick Lance on Tuesday, 02 December 2014 20:59

Today I joined the Meshkini family at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth for some family portrait photos. It’s been six months since I last photographed their family and now Elena is 1 year old. A sneak peek of their last photoshoot can seen here; Meshkini Family. Time has flown by but Elena is still her laughing, smiling self. She was so happy to see me and gave me lots of gorgeous smiles to photograph.

The Meshkini family used their second Free Photoshoot Voucher from their Maternity and Newborn Package, which is amazing value for money. They have now had four photoshoots in a year which has documented the growth or their beautiful family. They will now be able to treasure these memories forever.

We have been flat out here at Digitally Enhanced Photography with both Weddings and Portraits over the last two months. We are towards the end of wedding season but we are still in the midst of family shoots that are being organised as gifts for Christmas. While we may not be able to book many more photoshoots before Christmas we can organise gift certificates and gift vouchers for Christmas presents. We have already had a lot of enquires, so make sure to contact us soon as Christmas is only a few weeks away.

The Secker Family | Photographer Perth
Written by Nick Lance on Monday, 01 December 2014 18:51

The Secker Family joined us in our Landsdale photography studio this afternoon for some family photos and in some newborn photos of 3 week old Anna.

Their photoshoot was given to them as a gift from Jody’s work colleagues to celebrate the arrival of baby Anna. What a thoughtful gift! Photography really is a timeless gift. A lot of people struggle to find the perfect gift, especially when it comes time to expecting mothers and families. Of course you can never have enough nappies and newborn clothes but photographs capture a moment that lasts a lifetime. As we were talking with Jody, photography doesnt have to cost the earth. Our prints start from as low as $6 for a 6x4" and there is even the option of purchasing all of your photos from your photoshoot.

Newborn Anna and Joshua were perfectly behaved today, so we were able to take some great shots on their own and with mum. Newborns take a little more time but that’s okay, having had four children of our own we have all the patience in the world. Joshua didn’t mind waiting either because it meant that he was able to watch his favourite movie, Toy Story 2.

We offer all sorts of vouchers and gift certificates. Why not send us an email or give us a call? We will be more than happy to discuss some great gift ideas.

Thomas | Cake Smash Photographer Perth
Written by Nick Lance on Monday, 01 December 2014 14:57

Thomas joined us in our Landsdale Photography studio this morning for his first birthday Cake Smash photos.

Cake Smash photos are a great way to celebrate a child’s first birthday and something that they can keep forever. We have photographed hundreds of kids and not every child actually smashes the cake. In fact that is what makes a cake smash photoshoot so enjoyable – what will your child do when given a giant cupcake? Some pick at it. Some kick it. Some jump on it. Some laugh and some cry but it all makes for some great photos!

Before we bring out the giant cupcake we always take a few portraits so that the child gets comfortable with the studio and the lights. Its also a great way to sneak in a few family portraits as well. Thomas was joined with his 4 year old sister Chloe, who was eager to join in on the cake smash.

Thomas looked the part in his little blue tie, although he wasn’t a fan of the cake. Instead he had some great photos with mum and dad. Big sister, Chloe was thrilled with this idea because it meant that she was allowed to have the cake all to herself. She had a great time smashing the cake and by the end it was just a pile of green mess.

Have you ever wondered what to do to make your child’s 1st birthday truly memorable? Why not let them loose on a giant cupcake?! They get to eat it, smash it, throw it.. in fact they are able to do whatever they like and have the time of their lives without getting in trouble! Kara | Cake Smash Photographer Perth
Written by Nick Lance on Saturday, 29 November 2014 15:08

Kara visited our Landsdale photography studio this morning for her first Cake Smash photos. She was joined by her sister Sienna for a few portrait photographs before she was presented with her giant cupcake to do with as she liked.

We were informed that Sienna had a cake smash for her first birthday last year although Sienna was a little shy. Each child is different though and after a little bit of a taste of our delicious icing, Kara was straight into the cake. Perhaps the icing has some sort of moisturising capabilities because Kara enjoyed massaging it into her face. So we aren’t too sure how much of the cake she actually ate in the end but she definitely looked the part with icing dripping from her tiny face.

We also noticed that Kara is the fourth child we have had visit our photography studio in the last few weeks who has stuck her left foot in the air while she’s been smashing the giant cupcake. It’s interesting to notice these sort of patterns and incredibly fun to watch.
